1961 Triumph TR3 Description

Listed is a 1961 Triumph TR3 yellow with black interior. Vehicle runs and drives very well with the brake having just been redone including rebuilt original front brake calipers, new brake pads, machines rotors, new rubber brake lines, new rear wheel cylinders, brake shoes and hardware, rear drums machines, new brake and clutch master cylinders, new clutch slave cylinder and rubber hose. Both clutch and brake systems were power bleed with Castrol brake fluid. Tires are new and have less then 100 miles. Exhaust muffler is a new Ansa dual tip for a very pleasing tone. Water pump and fan bushings are new with the block, radiator, and heater core having been flushed in the process. Battery is new. All electrical seems to be in working condition including lights, turn signals, gauges, wiper's, heater motor and brake lights. Horns are present but in-operative.Original Transmission had a bad 1st and reverse with the transmission having been changed to a very very nice used unit with new seals and gaskets. No noise or clanks from the differential.Engine runs very well with oil pressure ranging from 35 to 75 psi depending on rpm. No knocks or excessive valve train noise. Just a little bit of smoke on initial start-up that seems to be diminishing since we changed oil over to Valvoline VR1 racing oil.Carburetor have been cleaned and adjusted with the bottom float bowel grommets renewed. Fuel tank was in exceptionally clean condition looking almost new on the inside apparently having been drained before hibernation with absolutely no residual gas. Valves have been set to .012". Points have been renewed but a Pertronix electronic ignition would be the best upgrade.Body is in really decent condition with no dents or excessive rust. A little bit of rust on the drivers side floorboard where one's feet sit. Rockers are clean. Frame on the bottom side seems clean with no perforation. All trim is present and in decent condition. Paint is average at best.Interior has been partially stripped with no rugs. Seats are original with the bottoms still intact but are poorly covered. Dash is in nice shape with all the gauges working correctly. Trafficator is in correct working order. Handbrake works correctly.Weather equipment is actually in nice condition with the side curtains intact. Top show no rips or tears with the plastic windows clear. Tonneau is in decent condition but the zipper is sticky in the middle. The odometer shows a shade over 53,000 miles which I think may be close to correct. I know the car sat in a garage 43 years before being brought back to life with the last tag current in 1975. I believed the owner before me stopped driving the car due to the transmission that was really in poor condition.
Hopefully I have described the car in fair detail. A really pretty nice unrestored example that could be really made into a nice car or could be driven immediately in its' present condition. We have put what I think is a very reasonable reserve price on the auction. Emails will be answered on a daily basis. Good luck with bidding and thanks for looking.
