1969 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description

Just the car for the VW/classic car enthusiast. Almost guaranteed one of these is not part of the current collection. Due to having so many cars/projects and no storage, I have decided to sell my Beetle LN33 Kit car. This kit was manufactured out of FL from 1984-1987. There were only forty kits made, and there are only about 30 left known to exist. Back in 1984, the kit cost $4895! This didn't include having to find a donor Beetle or other additional parts. When all said & done, this car would have cost about $10K to build back in 1984! (See photos) As you can see, it was modeled after a 1933 Dussenberg. I haven't had it long, but since I've owned it, I've put a good amount of money & work into it. I just had the brakes all gone through, brand new tie rod ends, new wiper arms, CD player, sun visors, turn signals (after market), latches, etc. The donor Beetle is a 1969 Convertible with what appears to be a newer motor. The motor is a 1600 dual port. It runs excellent & the transmission shifts beautifully. The odometer just started to go in and out recently. It says 59,580, so I would estimated the mileage at around only 60k (title proves this). It also, has a nice Monza exhaust. And as you can see the engine has some nice aftermarket chrome. This is registered as an antique, andpassed inspection with flying colors. Registration & insurance still consider this a 69 VW Beetle, so very cheap! As you can see in the pics, the frame had to be extended quite a bit for this kit car, which added quite a bit of weight. I drive this car on a regular basis and I've noticed that top speed is around 60-65/mph, but it still gets great gas mileage. The eagle on the front is actually the gas cap. The convertible top is in great shape with a glass back window. Other than a few small cracks & blemishes, the body is in great shape. The car will definitely need paint, but itstill looks great. I would consider it a "10 footer." The wheels have some rust, but once again look quite nice. The tires have great tread & are in great shape, but due to being bias ply and sitting for so long, they make for somewhat of a rough ride at times. It's seldom, and even when it does, it's just a little bouncy. The fog lights and horn are merely for show & are not hooked up, but I do have all of the hardware should you want to do that. All exterior lights & everything else in the interior works great. It only has interior light, wipers, cigarette lighter and radio, but it all works great. There are No seat belts in this car, but the holes are there should you want to ad them. The back seat is very tight, but my kids fir back there :) Front seats are adjusted all the way back. My wife who is short, is still able to drive. The interior is in fair and presentable condition. Seats are in fair shape and the carpeting was done okay. Please keep in mind this car sat for 20 years and has been a slow working progress since getting it (drive while restoring). I got it from the original owner's son after his father passed away. To say that this car is a head turner, is an understatement! The looks & comments you get every time you take it out, are amazing. You can't drive this anywhere without it being a conversation piece. People want to know what it is. They can't believe it's a VW & that there is no motor in the front. It has won trophy after trophy from local car shows. People honestly think it's a $250K car. My reserve still leaves plenty of room to finish the restoration of this car to give it the look and value it deserves. I found a forum for them that says that there are less than 30 left and Disney actually bought one & turned it into a Cruella Deville car. They sent me a link of one that sold four years ago that was not in good shape. It sold for $12,500 on Ebay! You won't be disappointed. You'll never find another one like it. It's only going up in value. I have the MA title from the previous owner. You will also get my current registration & a notarized bill of sale. This is more than you will need to register in any state. Bid with confidence. Check my feedback. Good luck!

Just to clarify the mileage, I am selling it as TMU. I estimate the mileage to be around 60k, but title shows 9999999. The odometer goes in and out. For those who asked how it drives: it drives quite well, but how you would expect a 69 Beetle with an extended frame would drive. A new set of tires would probably do it wonders. It is absolutely perfect for a "Sunday drive" or around town car, or car show/parade car. It is certainly not a highway car, but I wouldn't hesitate driving it anywhere.

The car does have a working horn under thr hood. The buttn is under the steering wheel. The outside horns can be hooked up, just are not yet. Anything needed for safety/inspection works.
