This amazing car has served as a daily driver for eight years. It's been converted to a model year 1998 1.9 liter VW TDI AHU engine and 02A 5-speed manual diesel transmission with hydraulic clutch. The engine had 175k on it when it was installed, and has about 275k on it now. Some added features include trailer hitch and wiring, keyless entry, working A/C, oil-to-air oil cooler, full instruments, BMW manual-adjust front seats, upgraded wiring, cooling system, Mk3 Jetta brakes, Bilstein struts, and Neuspeed springs. The top has been replaced and is in good condition. The heating controls have been modified to work much better than stock, and the car stays very cozy in the winter time. The mechanical items (timing belt, water pump, starter, alternator, brakes, etc.) have been completely refreshed within the last 15,000 miles. Fuel economy averages 45 mpg overall.
