1977 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Type 2 Description

Meet "Busterr!" This is a 1977 VW Type 2 Bus. I found this great VW in a barn in NC, where it had sat for 25+ years. I love Busterr, and hate to give him up, but other long term projects must get finished. This Bus is exactly the way to buy it, original paint (no bondo to deal with or someone else's questionable work) in which you know exactly what you're working with. Things I've done in just the last year; All 5 wheels have been blasted and powder coated white, 5 new 14" tires, new upper shaded windshield installed with new sealing gasket, all new front brake rotors, new front brake calipers, new front wheel bearings, new front and rear rubber brake lines, new rear brakes and new rear brake wheels cylinders, both new CV jointsandaxles, new shocks all the way around, new tie rods, newfueltank installed with new fuel sender, engine has been rebuilt with newcarburetorconversion kit replacing the fuel injection, new exhaust, engine sheetmetal powder coated silver and black. New clutch and pressure plate installed. All mechanical work was done by our local Air Cooled VW Shop, Island VW in Portsmouth VA. Call Warren the owner if you have any concerns. All lights work as they should, as well as rear window defrost, horn, interior dome lights, blinkers, 4-way hazard, etc. Even the radio works but can betemperamentalat times. Wipers work and have new blades. I have a clock in the glove box I was going to install.Exterior does have some minor rust that will have to be dealt with, as this was my next step. The underneath of this Bus is rock solid. No rust underneath in any of the frame or floor supports. The front inner wheel wells are rock solid as well as the rear wheel inner wheel wells. Check out all the pics, underside is amazing! Will need the spare tire wheel well replaced, and I have one in the pic. Battery tray will also need replaced. Other minor rust as seen in pics will need to be cut out and repaired, or drive it like it is. This Bus has never been hit, as stated it has no bondo and still in its original paint. Interior is in decent shape. Front seats will need to be recovered (I drive with college cushions on them), middle and rear seat fine and original. Headliner is good, door panels all original. Bothrubberfloormats good, next step was to sand andpaintthe metal floors whiteagain. The metal heat vent duct which mounts under the middle seat and always gets lost, is still there! My goal was to get Busterr running, driving and braking for long hauls, as I have, and then tackle the cosmetics. I also just recently installed the cool looking sun shade! This Bus is registered and insured and I drive it to work on nice days, and around on the weekends. You could fly in and take this thing home. I have a lot of the original paperwork to go with it, and also have a tow hitch that goes with it as well, just needs to be installed. You won't bedisappointed. Good Luck!
