1970 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic original Description

When I purchased this VW 3 years ago, it had a new rebuilt engine, new shocks, new front end H bar, good brakes, and new battery. Even so, this survivor is not 100% restored, and could still use more work to be respectable. Proof of engine rebuild by professional shop available. Less than 1000 miles have been put on the engine since new, and new radials were added when purchased. The sun roof does not leak, opens, but is aftermarket. Rust is minimal, but more evident on the exterior, with rust spots treated with rust inhibitor, looking black. The floor pans are solid and acceptable, but not excellent with some undercoating peeling. The battery floor area has a few rust pin holes. Tire wheel well solid, almost perfect. Although the exterior color is oxidized Maroon,( a repaint over red), it looks good for its age. A new paint job would make it look even better, and a color could be to your liking. New front seats or front seat rebuild needed. The Steering wheel has no cracks, and the working Saphire radio bought on ebay is correct for the year, but not connected. The car is registered with antique plates, insured, and driven regularly, although not every day. Rear tail lights work intermitantly, but brake lights are ok. Included is John Muir's repair book from the 70s, VW 1970 owners manual, a VW hand crank body jack, an original jack, and many small replacement parts. In conclusion, mechanically, and body wise, it is in good condition, but it still needs cosmetic replacements, and repair. Its an easy project car that you can drive with confidence every day.
