1962 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic sunroof Description

Spectacular 1962 Beetle Sunroof - 28,740 Original Miles! Time-Warp Condition!

This extremely original beetle has only 28,740 miles.

It was a one-owner CA car before being purchased by a noted Porsche / VW collector in Stratford, CT in 1996 and was stored in his climate-controlled facility and rarely driven since then.
I purchased the car from the estate of the last owner who claimed that the sunroof has not been opened since the 1990s.

The interior is immaculate - the seats have been covered in clear plastic since the 1960’s, the door panels and hardware are perfect, and the original square weave carpet looks brand new.

The original headliner has staining common with sunroof cars, but it's that patina that tells the story of the car's originality.

The engine is the best-sounding and performing VW Beetle engine I've ever driven. It's been gone through after sitting for so many years and everything functions perfectly and presents as original. See photos. Brakes, steering and transmission are perfect.

The underside is absolutely flawless.

This car retains all it’s original pieces including tool, kit, paint tags, oil change stickers (one on the door from the 1966 shows mileage @ 8100 and one from 1986 shows mileage to be 20,984 – that’s 8,000 miles over last 30 years!) – it even appears to have it’s original tires and spare.
The only 2 pieces not original to the car are the starter (the original is still out being rebuilt and will be included in the sale whenever it is ready) and the license plate light housing - which was replaced when the original was dented in the late 1960's.

If you've ever wondered what it was like to drive a new Volkswagen Beetle off the lot in 1962, this car delivers that feeling. It is without a doubt, the best running, most well preserved 1962 Beetle I've seen.
