1965 VW Bug Frame Off Restoration 2050 CC motor All Custom Interior..
1965 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description
1965 VW 1965 Bug finished in it's original Bahama Blue....the project started with a well kept low mileage car that has all its original panels including front and rear valence panels. The only replacement needed or body repair needed other than the normal dings and small dents was the Battery pan area, everything else was in excellent condition. A full pan off restoration was done with all prep and paint on the separated body. The body fitment is excellent, the paint was so good that it was never color sanded and the whole complete body was placed back on the finished pan. The pan and chassie was completely rebuilt with and adjustable front beam and rear air shocks to get the perfect stance when needed. Front and rear disc brakes were added and all suspension bushings were replaced with Energy urethane bushings. The transaxle is all rebuilt with strength and power in mind as the motor was built up to over 2000cc's. The Engine was built with all the best pieces from Scat to Weber ....over 9k spent on it alone and I have a list of all the pieces...I tried to tastefully prep the engine and add function as well as making it something to look at ...the oil filter was added with braided lines as well as the gas lines to the carbs..... I added a serpentine belt because it is just really cool and easy to adjust.... the gas comes to the carbs via an electric in-line pump and the chrome shroud gives the entire setup a cool background....All new quality seals were used throughout the entire car as well as quality trim pieces.....The entire is a work of art and has the smell of a well built machine. ...the door panels are all custom, front and rear and are wrapped in a very soft tanned leather... The headliner is a soft skin material that blends well with the custom carpet pieces.....Really nice custom work but not too much....I wanted a more comfortable seat, so sport seats were added with the same leather added....A custom radio unit was added with a dual cone speaker, just in case someone would rather hear something other that a well tuned exhaust....The front boot (trunk) area has a natural finish gas tank with a cool pop cap that I spent a ton of time to graft to the tank neck so that fill-ups are as cool as the rest of the car...I wanted to add the same wheel as a spare that I used on the car and managed to shrink the size a bit and make it fit without any body mods.....An original refinished jack finishes the whole thing off....That's the best description I can give and I am sure that i forgot a bunch of stuff......this car is as solid as it is cool to look at and it drives very well.....I thought of 500 different thinks I could have done differently and have redone almost everything twice....so it is time to finish this project and start another one....You cannot find a cooler VW bug built to this quality ....Thanks for looking...
