I have for sale a very clean 1969 Volkswagen Bug. It is a great running and looking Classic Bug. The following is a detailed description:
Mechanical. When I bought this Bug, it was not running. I pulled the motor, installed a new set of 85.5mm 1600cc pistons and liners. Heads looked good and just lapped the valves. Assembled with new gaskets and installed a new header and quiet pack muffler. Also installed new Generator and Voltage regulator. Replaced rear transmission mounts. Engine now runs great.
Transmission works perfectly with no grinds or pop outs. Installed new brake master cylinder and car stops great with a high/hard brake pedal.
Body: Car is straight and 99.9 % rust free. The car was repainted the original color some time ago. Paint shines great but has a few minor dings, scrapes etc. Has just a couple very small and hard to see bubbles on lower doors. Pan is perfect, dry and rust free. Bumper in good shape
Interior: Interior is all original. Seats are not ripped or torn, but stuffing under covers have deteriorated. Still very presentable. Headliner good, Needs a new carpet kit.
Wheels and Tires: Car has 5 almost new stock radials mounted on stock 2 tone steel wheels.
Glass: Glass is good, windows roll up and down fine. Has Pop out rear quarter windows. Could use new rubber scrappers.
Electronics: All lights work. New charging system
Car has a clean title and is currently registered in Calif.( Smog Exempt)
WHAT THE CAR NEEDS:
I bought this car because of its clean original look. The mechanics didn’t scare me. I just purchased another car and this one has to go. If I were to keep i, I would do the following
Needs a Carpet kit
Needs rubber scrappers on door glass
Need inside tie rod ends
Install stock radio in place of aftermarket stereo(that does not work)
Install new seat foam under original seat covers.
In conclusion, here is a solid California VW Bug that looks great, that starts, run, drive, and stops great. This is not a show car, just a clean Classic Bug.
I have invested much $$ and lots of time in this bug. I think my “ Buy it Now “price is very reasonable and the reserve is very close to that price
