1962 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Description
I was told this Ghia was either a 61 or 62 car it started life as a coupe but long ago lost its roof. There is NO TITLE or VIN for this Ghia the car has been a race car for many years and has never required one. This car was raced heavily at 75/80 drag way in Maryland and at various Bug-outs and Bug-ons. The front end is one piece fiberglass and held on with hood pins the rear engine lid is also held on with hood pins and completely removes. The doors are gutted and the passenger door is welded shut. The car has watercooled vw calipers in the rear and no front brakes with aluminum drag wheels up front. There is an MSD setup in the car aswell as a Holley electric fuel pump I have not tested any of it so I cant say to its function. The gearbox looks like its had some work done to it there are number stamping on the top that I tried to photograph and the side cover looks aftermarket, the case code is 113 301 103l and it has the straps around it. All in all this looks like a vw that could be back on the strip pretty quickly with a motor and some updates.
