Slammed 1965 VW Beetle
1965 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description
Selling my 65 Bug. Runs and drives excellent.
Engine is a freshly rebuilt 1776ccEngine specs: Due to a fuel pump diaphragm going out, a rod bearing was wiped out. Engine was torn down and gone over. Machine shop machined the crank and rebuilt the rod. Everything else checked out great. New cam, main, and rod bearings. Crankshaft is an original VW crank that has been counter weighted. Cam is an Engle 110. Empi big bore cylinder heads. Carburetors are dual Empi 40s. Engine tins are powder coated metallic gold. The engine has around 100 miles on it. The engine is a little cold natured due to no choke. Usually won't idle until after a minute or two of running. The exhaust that is currently on it is the Empi 3418 which can be seen in the video. The exhaust in the pictures is no longer on it.
Headlights, windshield wipers, turn signals, etc work. It has been converted to 12 volt. Generator upgraded to alternator. There is a stereo in it. A connection has come loose, and it is not working at the moment. The tachometer is also not working. There is a working oil pressure and temperature gauge.
Wheels/Suspension:15" CCW Classics with new tires (speedometer does not work due to wheels)Upgraded to 4 wheel disk brakes4 inch adjustable narrowed beamDrop spindlesFlattened pans (rust free)4 inch adjustable drop plates
Interior:The seats were all recently redone. The passenger seat seam is opened up where it leans forward. This is only seen if seat it leaned forward. The carpet is in great shape.
Exterior: Paint is faded as you can see in the pictures. It has still won several awards at shows. The chrome trim pieces at the bottom of the running boards are no longer on it due to one getting ripped off when driving.
YouTube video of startup and walk round: https://youtu.be/YbVfjQhMtqA (This video was taken 6/12/17. It shows it with the rebuilt engine and the current exhaust)
For a car this low, it still drives amazing. It will drive straight down the road, and highway speeds are no problem with the 1776cc. Price is $9,000 firm. If you do not like the price, then please do not contact me. I do not have to sell. The only way I would be willing to lower price some is if you want to provide your own wheels and/or engine. Sold on bill of sale due to age, which is all that Georgia requires. I have sold to other states before that require a title, and most just require the bill of sale to note that I have never had a title, since Georgia does not require them. No test drives without cash in hand.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I am willing to send any additional photos/videos that you would like. You will be responsible for arranging pick up. I will do my best to work with you as far as being available when it is ready to be picked up. You can make your deposit through PayPal. The rest of the purchase price must be paid with cash in person.
