1982 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Westfalia Description

This van has had a full, meticulous restoration completed. This is not a project van. It has been heavily modified and is ready to be used. It is not so perfect that you are afraid to drive it, but it is one of the nicest vans you will see on the road. I can't drive it anywhere without people stopping me. You will never see another one like this.
The bottom-to-top restoration has all been completed in the last 3 years. It started with new paint and a Subaru 2.2 installation. The engine and transmission do not leak a drop. Doesn’t burn a drop of oil, either. A new gas tank was put in, along with every fuel line replaced. The interior has spray-in LizardSkin Sound Control and Ceramic Insulation. It is sealed with Monstaliner throughout. The walls and doors have fresh denim insulation with new ABS interior panels. The propane tank has been replaced, a Propex HS2211 heater added, and every propane line and fitting is new. The entire water system, aside from the tank itself, has been replaced. The pre-faucet lines are all silver-ion, anti-microbial lines. All camper/westy associated wiring has been replaced with modern wires/fittings/switches/outlets/fuses and come with a complete set of wiring diagrams. A solar panel is on the roof and is wired to two deep-cycle auxiliary batteries. The aux batteries are connected to the starter battery with an ACR and all three batteries are connected to a ProSport 20A three-bank charger. The headlights and housings are brand new, and every other exterior light is LED, along with Rigid Industries back-up lights on a separate switch. This van has a Viper alarm system, a ScanGauge II, a Pioneer MVH-X560BT deck with Bluetooth calling, and a backup camera. It comes with two full sets of wheels and tires (brand new GW set and original set), both sets have brand new tires with less than 1,000 miles on each. It has a custom, locking floor box with a hinged floor and comes with an ARB 50Qt fridge/freezer.
Here is a little more detail on certain aspects:
Exterior:
Fresh paint, GW plate steel bumpers, Rocky Mountain Westy spare tire carrier, GW no-flop mirrors, all exterior LEDs, Osram Hyper 85/80W headlights in Cibie housings, Rigid Industries SR-Q backup lights, GoWesty 16" alloy wheels with Michelin Defender tires (less than 1k miles), full size spare, new GoWesty hook-up boxes.
Camper Electrical:
Full re-wire, two 105 AH deep-cycle batteries, volt meter, three dual-usb outlets, two new 12 volt outlets, cabin lights, Blue Sea ACR, ProMariner ProSport 20 Battery Charger Plus Gen 3, Renology 100W solar panel, Renology solar charge controller, Blue Sea fuse block, Blue Sea switch panel.
Major Custom Work:
The floor has been hinged to reveal the locking floor box. There is a lock-box under the bench seat, as well. All the locks for both are keyed-alike. The water filler neck is inside the cabin and there are block-off plates over the exterior hook-ups. This was done so that the water could be filled on the road when there is not a hose to use. The accessories to return the water system back to original are included. Also, the step-pad holes have been welded shut and sealed.
Miscellaneous:
Brand new driver and passenger seatbelts, new struts for rear hatch, GoWesty 2" mattress topper, Lloyd rubber floor mats, a kill switch is installed, transmission fluid recently replaced with Swepco 201, recent alignment and front bearings re-done.
The van will also come with:
Bentley manual, original owner’s manual, a 3-ring binder with all manuals/instructions, a usb with pdf copies of manuals/instructions, the 5 original wheels with new tires on them (less than 1k on Thunderer Ranger R101 tires, manf date 2014), Original bumpers, Yakima roof racks/bars, pop top assist struts (the hardware to connect them in already installed - they are snap-on), all necessary pieces to return water system to the original layout, original curtains and rear hatch mesh net, and many other extra items removed from van during restoration.
Ebay does not allow external links, but I have an on-going (but behind)build log for this van on TheSamba. It is titled "1982 Subaru Westy Build Log - Dorothy" if you are interested to find it.
