1970 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description

Selling my restored 1970 VW Beetle Convertible. I've had this little beauty since 1996 and started a ground-up Resto in 2002 with the help of Cedar Glen Auto Body in Lake Arrowhead, California. All 4 fenders, hood and drivers door shell were replaced. Hammer and Dolly work on everything else,i.e.: NO BONDO! Only glaze putty in a couple of areas that couldn't be worked well enough due to access (windshield post bases). Bodywork was done old-school by some of the best! Sikkens 2-stage paint in '02 Mitsubishi Barcelona Red minus the red pearl (so it didn't flip "pink" in the sun). It's a deep burgundy/merlot color thats a head-turner. Car was painted in 2004 at Davis Auto Body in Crestline, California. Davis also did the floor pan replacement and window rubber/chrome replacement in 2009. Seats were re-upholstered in 2011. Newseatbelts (3point in the front) and carpet in 2011. New dash. USB double port installed under dash (for phone charging etc). The car has been garaged since 2011 and driven only as aweekend driver and for servicing. ALL replacement parts were purchased OEM through Wolfsburg West in Corona, Ca. The restoration isn't 100% complete but I'm moving home to New Zealand and so its time to say goodbye :-(
It runs and drives great, brakes (including brake cylinders and master cylinder)were all replaced in 2015. I keep the valves in perfect condition and everything tuned up nice. New Battery a month ago. She's ready to go. NOTE:1.) There are two very small shopping cart dings, smaller than a dime, one in the LF Fender and one in the upper left of the decklid, hence why my asking price is $12K (NADA bookfor Good condition is $13K). This is why I barely drive her, because...LA parking lots. They've been touched up andaren't noticeable to the untrained eye, but I knowthey're there so you should too. 2.) The window washer and air circulation system was not reinstalled (not needed so much in California!), although I have the original parts and they're in perfect condition. 3.) I have MANY of the original parts still, and ALL records of everything work done over the 21 years of owning her.
This car is my baby, there's not a day when I drive her that someonedoesn't pull up next to me to take pictures, ask questions, tell me stories, or try to buy her (I honestly never thought I'd sell). She's beautiful, so don'tmessage me with lowballs or to ask if I'll take less than the minimum, cause I won't. I'm prepared to wait for the right buyer who will continue to take great care of her. You're welcome to message me with any other questions.
Thanks!
