1964 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Porsche 912 motor Description
This is a 1964 Karmann Ghia from California. It is rust and accident free.
Car had a glass out paint job in Manila Yellow. Body is straight and had new rubber seals installed.Bumpers were sent out for chrome plating.
The interior front seats are black leather with imported black/yellow hound tooth fabric.The carpet is gray German wool square weave.Door panels are 67' 912 style with long packets.
The suspension has a front 19mm sway bar and rear axle has a camber compensator and gas shocks.It has the later ball joint front end with 2 inch drop spindles for a perfect stance.
Front and rear disc brakes.
The motor is a rebuilt Porsche 912 motor with a big bore kit, 1750 with external oil sump.Solex P4-11 carbs with mesh air cleaners.
123 electronic distributorDansk sport exhaust makes a nice sound, not to loud.All sheet metal was powder coated and cad plated.Work was performed by Porsche expert David Bustamente
Transmission was built by Rancho transmission in Fullerton Calif.It is there Performance built unit 200mm flywheel and clutch.Gearing was changed to be close to a 356 Porsche great for canyon and freeway driving.
Gauges are Porsche 912 speedo and tach plus VDO volt, oil pressure, and oil temp.
It has a Blaupunkt blue dot am/fm radio.There is also a remote start button in the engine compartment and a kill switch in the car.
This is a one of a kind Ghia that gets a lot of attention where ever you go.
