1970 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Original Description

Not real excited about selling my bus that I have been steadily improving on forapprox. 10 years and had such great adventures with. Istored it ina barn for several years but not now. Before I tarp it for a thirdwinter I thought I would at least see if someone appreciates itfor what I consider a low starting bidand someone who has better storage than I currently do. There are several inconsequential cosmetic imperfection's but overall ina very goodnatural well preserved state. Anything mechanical has been addressedand after 'blowing' theprevious engine on the NY Pike on the way back from a Woodstock Reunion I was very fortunate to be able to locate a rebuilt bus engine that is a single port and correct for the 1970 VW Bus. I had tohave the bushauled home to NHfrom Schenectady but what a weekend in Bethel and it was worth every dime.A friend of mine is a foreign auto mechanic and I've spent a small fortune with him nurturing the bus from the first day him and I went to check it out. When I first got it another friend did some professional metal work to correct some rust on the body and repainted the blue lower section.Since that timesome bubbling andedge chipping has occurred. Could be easily touched up but the perfectionist look wasn't that important to me.Originally I got it from a young lady who was a Phish fanandused to drive it to 'shows'.She placed someappropriate decals inside and on a couple windows which I didn't disturb. She named it 'The Sloth' and said it was called 'The Whale' by the previous owner. It gets peace signs from young and oldespecially driving through Vermont.Email me any questions you may have or to come take a test ride.I'm in Southern NH 40 minutes north of Portsmouth.
