My wife and I have owned this Volkswagen Westfalia Camper since May 1998. I believe we are the 3rd owners. When we purchased the Camper Van it had 152243 miles on it. The current mileage is 159497. We put 8254 miles on it, solely for camping. After purchase we did many upgrades and repairs as time permitted: see below. I was an ASE Certified Master Automotive Technician for over 25 years. In May 2002 I removed the cylinder head due to a slight coolant drip and due to lack of time to work on it, the van sat inside of a fully dry- walled, attached garage for a few months. With vacation rapidly approaching, we decided to purchase a new 2002 Eurovan Camper in July 2002. The Westfalia has been sitting in the same spot inside the garage for 14 years. See pictures.
This Westfalia is in extremely good condition, it is extremely clean inside and out. It is a California vehicle. There are no dents. The brake pedal is high and firm. Clamp on Awning. All glass, seats and upholstery, interior, kitchen, carpets, dash, pop top, curtains, canvas, and door panels are in excellent condition. The bottom was repainted by the previous owner to, as he put it, “class it up a bit”. Chrome on the front and rear bumpers are excellent. The previous owner had an OEM VW transmission, clutch, and pressure plate installed at a VW dealer in Florida while on a trip in May 1996 @ 137125 miles. The transmission has 22372 miles on it. I have the paperwork.
Exterior- Paint is very good, nice and shiny (see photos). It has a few very small rust spots. One on the lift gate by the window, one on the front by the windshield, and one on the side by the rear bumper.
This van has been sitting inside the garage for 14 years and has a valid California DMV Certificate of Non-Operation. This van needs to go to someone that will repair the engine, give it a very little TLC and use it!Please have a look at the pictures and feel free to ask questions.
This van is a used vehicle and there is no warranty.
