1972 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Description
You are looking at a very rare Volkswagen Westfalia Campmobile tin top. This is a very honest and clean bus that has been sitting indoors for the last 20 years and is ready for you to restore. The 1972 was a transition year so it has the more powerful Type 4 engine and newer large rear tail light lenses, while retaining older stylish features like the front step bumper pads.
The Westfalia is very original and honest, most of the original interior is there; all of the glass is factory VW marked with the exception of the windshield and louvered jalousie windows are not marked but almost certainly original; the doors and drip rails are very solid and not rusted out like most old Westfalia's; the engine is not running, but does freely turn over and sounds like it has compression; the engine is the correct Type 4 engine code: CB024004 - the "CB" designates years 72-73 1700cc manual transmission. The engine has been converted to single carburetor using a Weber 32/36, a very popular VW upgrade.
Recent Parts Upgrades:
- New Exhaust Setup
- New Spark Plugs
- New Oil Change
- New Oil Filter
(In my spare time I am actively working on the Westy, which is why it has these new parts; if I get it running or add more new parts I will update the auction so you may want to check back each week)
You simply don't see these for sale, find another one that is numbers matching with clear title and a body this straight; this bus has four VIN plates all numbers matching along with the Westfalia ID plate on exterior. Great find, very original and solid body for your restoration project.
