1971 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description
This Beetle, my wife's baby, is breathtaking in person. It was fully restored 10 years ago and has 8,950 miles on this engine since its restoration. It has custom pearl white paint, custom tan tweed upholstered interior, VDO white face gauges, chrome trim, Riken Raptor 195/60R15 tires in good condition, and an insulated tan top in brand new condition. This car has always been garage kept and with car cover when not in use during the winter months. It has a Sony CD player with Sony 6x9 3-way rear speakers and Retrosound 2-way 6.5" front kick panel speakers. This Beetle is upgraded with power disc brakes, hydraulic clutch that never has to be adjusted, and air conditioning for when you don't want to put the top down. It has a manual 4-speed transmission with shifter on the floor, the motor is an air cooled 1600cc, upgraded with dual Weber carburetors, electric fuel pump, electronic ignition, and custom Euro exhaust, giving it plenty of power to turn the air conditioner compressor at highway speeds. This car runs and drives beautifully. We have owned it for 6 years and have been meticulous about maintaining it with regular checkups, oil changes and washes. This has been my wife's daily driver around downtown Laurel for the last 6 years, and we are only selling it because she's ready for her next classic car, hopefully something bigger.
Bonus: comes with the breathable fabric car cover for storage, the classic car manual, "How To Keep Your Volkswagen Alive" by John Muir, and custom convertible top boot in matching tan fabric.
Note: Air cooled VW engines tend to leak a little oil. It's not a lot, but people who don't drive VWs may not know this. The driver's side rearview mirror is missing. The car is showing some minor signs of rust, though it's not bad for a 45 year old Beetle.
