1970 Volkswagen Beetle, Original Motor, Owned Since 1976
1970 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description
I'm selling this 1970 VW Beetle for my father-in-law. He became the 3rd owner when he bought it in 1976. At that time, t had 82,000 miles. The car still has the original motor, nd it was overhauled in 2002 at 117,000 miles. The mileage today is approximately 157,500. This has been a daily driver over the last couple of decades, ut the trips are short. Regular oil changes and maintenance have been performed, nd a repair log book has been kept that goes back to 1976 (see picture). It doesn't use a lot of oil between changes. It was repainted many years ago, nd now the clear coat is spotty and missing in some areas. The bondo and paint are flaky on the top and around the back bumper. There are a few rust spots around. This is an Alabama vehicle, nd we don't have much ice/snow so our roads don't get salted very often. This helps reduce the amount of rusting. I've included pictures of the underside of the vehicle. There are a couple of small dents. The vehicle has been in a couple of minor accidents which resulted in repair to the hood, ender, nd rear bumper. The seats were reupholstered many years ago when the rubber seals were also replaced. The driver side window crank is stripped, ut you can manually raise and lower the window. An electronic ignition was added in 2005, nd it was converted from generator to alternator. New valve adjusters were added a couple of years ago. He has used 100% gasoline (Ethanol free) and 20W50 Castrol for its life. Video of cranking: https://youtu.be/ku0q8UuLCiA The original tire jack and windshield wiper tank are also included. Two snow tires will be included in the deal. 1970, 0, W, olkswagen, oodlebug, eetle, olkswagon, lassic, ell Maintained, lear title, reat car
