1969 VW Karminn Ghia " Survivor
1969 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Description
I just acquired this wonderful 1969 VW Karminn Ghia from the original 90 year old owner that purchased it new in 1969 . Rust Free Floor Pan, Original engine and all original interior . The owner mainly bought the car for his wife to drive and after her passing did not drive it much . Been garaged in Portland, Oregon its entire life and was also purchase new in the area in 1969. Here is what I have done since I have owned it ..Installed new shocks, changed gas filte, changed the oil and replaced spark plugs. The chrome pieces on the doors were partly gone so I replaced it as well . Tires are in great shape . Interior condition seat show normal tears and seems coming loose but all original . Crack in center of dashboard as they all have .. knee pad original also with typical cracking a easy thing to replace as well .. Car has its original red paint with some minor dings and scratches from use. a few minor surface rust spots on the nose of the car as my pictures show ..What does it need ?? "A engine rebuild " All new gaskets and valve job ..Car has around 180,000 miles on it . Car runs and drive but is leaking oil bad and needs carburator work. I am not a mechanic or I would do this mysel, Engine rebuilds are not pricey for a car like this .. Brakes are fin, Transmission fine ...
