1961 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description

Up for Auction is my '61 VW Beetle. A very complete restoration done to a high standard. There was nothing left untouched to make this one of the nicest quality Beetles on the Market today. All the chrome, aluminum trim, emblems, running boards, handles, switches, just about everything that needed ANY attention was addressed, including all weatherstripping and gaskets. All the glass was removed before painting so there are no tape lines anywhere (VW Gulf Blue). The seats have been re-stuffed then covered along withnew headliner, rugs, visors, all lights (every one works), gauges and dash lights dim as they should with the light switch, high and low beams work along with thecluster light for high beams, wipers, gas gauge, generator, and oil lights. Horn works, turn signals workand they cancel properly. Brand new 6 VOLT BATTERY just installed. The motor and trans axle have both been rebuilt and are perfect, and the braking system is new including shoes, cylinders and all lines. There are 5 new correct WW radials which keep the car straight as an arrow while driving. Surprisingly peppy, it's a blast to drive. All the locks work fine including the engine lid. The ORIGINAL Sapphire radiohas stopped, itlights up and makes a sound like it has juice but does not play.AS hard as it may be to believe, the heat works fine!!! Crank the knob on and off. Just like they used to be, the doors shut much easier if a window is cracked a bit. It IS that tight. Both windows roll up and down with no issues and the doors close with that distinctive "click". An original owner's manual is in the glove box which also closes with that same "click". Nothing has been overlooked in the restoration and you will not find a speck of rust any where on the car, PERIOD!!!! PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO LOOK AT THE PICTURES Ihavepostedso you can really understand what a terrific car this is. No disappointments here.Continental US Bidders only please.
