Today I have decided to sell my personal 1957 VW Camper Bus. I bought it 5 years ago as you see it now. It starts up every single time and sits on 15 inch rims with VW chrome caps. It is power with a strong 1600 cc engine combine with a freeway flyer transmission. There are front disc brakes in the front and drums in the back. A Hurst shift gives it a smoother ride. There are safari’s windows in the front and a pop out rear window.
On the side there is a big camper window with louvers on each side that you can adjust up and down. Each cargo door also has the cool louvers and the also work effortlessly. The front slide windows are original Sekurit stamped. There are nice chrome ice pick handles that are for the correct year. On top, right above the safari split window is a nasty looking cyclops light that shines high beam yellow for those foggy days.
The steering wheel is leather wrapped for better grip. Inside have all wood panels and a fabric liner with palm trees to add the beach ambiance. In addition, there is a camper table that folds up if you care to enjoy all your meals or fold down when you need some extra leg room. There’s even a Coleman Ice Box cooler that serves a fridge if you buy dry ice or regular ice to keep it cool.
Yes, you can also sleep in this vintage camper as the large bench seat folds down and allows two adults to sleep comfortable. As you can see, there is also a water faucet, so you can pump water out to wash your food and hands.
It is set up for a modern radio with speakers above but right now a classic correct era radio sits on the dash. There is a custom made wood rack in the back area for luggage or extra towels.
All the electrical work including the inside light. All signal lights and one single rear brake light even works! If you know, this is a 1957 VW Bus, so the lights are the bullet style front and rear with hella lenses.
These 50’s buses are highly sought after and has gone up value in the past few years. This is not a show car but it is a daily driver. If you are looking for 100k bus, then this bus is not for you. If you are looking for a cool daily cruiser with half the budget, then bid accordingly and ask questions.
