1960 Volkswagen Beetle Known 2-Family History From New Original Window Sticker Green Exterior / White Interior / Whitewalls Original Engine and Transmission VIDEO WITH LISTING VIN: 2819303 Engine #: 3333768 This ‘60 Beetle was sold new through Elliot Motors in Panama City, FL to a Mr. Godert, who held onto the car until passing it on to his son in May of 2000. Records show that at this time the car had a hair over 110,000 miles on the original drivetrain. Mr. Godert’s son held onto the car... for 5 years before selling it to a gentleman in Michigan, who we later bought the car from. The owner in Michigan was very enthusiastic about the car; he attended many small-town shows and drove the car constantly throughout the summers during his 12-year ownership. As it sits now, this is an honest, well-documented, largely unmolested Beetle that is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner. The Exterior: - Please see the video along with the listing, as the car is shown in detail. All blemishes are shown close-up and in direct sunlight. Blemishes include a few touched-up scratches as well as some cracking at the bottom corner of the passenger door. - Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free. - Wheels and tires are both in great shape. Chrome hubcaps and rings show no damage or oxidation, American Classic Whitewalls are from 2009 but are like-new. - Paint is a B+ quality respray of what is presumed to be the original color. Presents extremely well and shines bright, but it’s quite a concours-level job. - Weatherstripping is in excellent shape, though the rubber trim around the pop-out windows is a bit of a pain as it makes closing the pop-outs fairly tough. The Interior: - White vinyl seats are in great shape. No damage, scuffs, stains, or anything of the sort. - Black carpet is like-new. - Odometer reads 75,211 and is not functional. Actual mileage is presumably close to 175,000, as handwritten records indicate that when the original owner’s family sold the car in 2006 it had about 110,000 miles on it. - Chrome on the dash, like around the gauge, shows some oxidation. All the lights in the cluster are functional, fuel light and signals. Wipers and lights are functional as well. - Radio is not functional. - Door panels are in great shape, no scuffs or kicked-open markings. Under the Hood / Under the Car: - Please take a look at the underbody photos, as the car is documented in detail. Looks as though the passenger-side floors were done, driver’s left alone. There are a couple cracks in the driver’s side underside of the floor, as well as some flaking undercoating. No other damage or points of concern on the underbody, and the spare tire well (most common rust spot on these) is nice and dry. - This car retains it’s original drivetrain, and the engine number of 3333768 is actually shown on the original window sticker from Elliot Motors of Panama City, FL. - The car runs and drives really well, and has seen plenty of recent exercise. Wouldn’t hesitate to fly in and drive home. It starts right up, idles cool, steady, and quiet, accelerates and shifts smoothly, and brakes straight and effectively. The car tracks straight down the road, and steering is nice and direct. Car will be sold with a good bit of documentation. As mentioned, the original window sticker, but also the original manual, a copy of the original title, and all of the title transfer documents from each of the two times the car changed hands over the course of its life.
