1976 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Description

This is Mr. IZ - a 1976 Volkswagen T2 Westfalia with the full Subaru conversion and new Rancho transmission. You can enjoy this amazing classic with the benefits of a modern engine - adequate horsepower, a cooling system and excellent gas mileage! Mr IZ has spent his entire life in the Arizonadesert and his body shows it! I am the 3rd owner and have garaged it since bringing him to New York.
We just took it out for three weeks with the kids and travelled over 1500 miles without a hitch. The cooling system works great - the temp sensor rarely reads over 190 degrees.
Here I am just 5 days ago going over a mountain pass in New Hampshire at 45 - 50 MPH fully loaded!

Here are some features:
• Complete Subaru Busaru Conversion http://busaru.com/ (an estimated $10,000 conversion)• '91 Subaru Legacy Engine with 80k on it• Rancho transmission with 200 miles on it• ARB Awning ($600 value)• Water cooled system - belly mounted radiator according to Busaru specs• New Michelin Defender Tires purchased in May - approx 1500 miles on them. (cost me $600)• Modern Kenwood radio with CD, aux input, USB• Sony sound system speakers

My stepdad did the entire conversion with a 1991 Subaru Legacy EJ25 with only 80k miles on it. Everything is converted according to Busaru specifications. He also refinished the entire interior with a cork floor and new panelling in the kitchen, front seat roof and doors.
The fabric is in great condition, the canvas top was replaced a few years ago. This bus also comes with a one year old ARB awning.
I tested the stove, kitchen, fridge power outlets when I purchased it and everything worked. However, I have not used any of these things lately as I prefer to use a portable camping stove and use the icebox and sink for storage.
We removed the auxiliary battery during the conversion. Right now the air intake sits where the aux battery used to be (see pic). Of course you can probably put another aux battery back in there or under the back seat.
Recent repairs (not many)• New left front caliper brake• New rear brake shoes and cylinders• New thermostat in engine• New horn
Things that it doesn't have and things that don't work (still, not many)• Air conditioning• Heat (You can install heat from the radiator hose)• Windshield washer pump• Turn signalcancellingring could use some adjustment. Works sometimes, other times I just do it manually. No big deal.• As mentioned above - Aux power system is not hooked up.
Please note that this vehicle is being sold as is and no returns or refunds are accepted. If something happens during transport the buyer is responsible for fixing it!
I'll post more details soon! In the meantime, please ask any questions you may have!
