1963 Volkswagen Beetle
Resto-custom 1963 Volkswagen Beetle
I’m thinning out the number of cars I own, so I am selling my Bug. It is an older resto-custom. I have owned the car for just over a year. The car has a custom interior, like new rag-top sliding sunroof canvas (it’s a factory ragtop Bug, not and aftermarket add-on). The original engine was replaced by a 1600 Dual-port engine. The heat exchangers were eliminated and duct work was capped off by previous owner.
I have done the following work on it:
New front drums.
New front wheel bearings.
New German master brake cylinder.
Replaced rear axle gaskets.
Replaced one rear brake cylinder.
New brake pads.
The car has some paint flaws, but they are easily corrected and as you can see, the car looks great. The floor pan is in good shape. It had the usual rust around the battery tray area, but the previous owner patched it.
The odometer currently reads 83,xxx miles (I still drive it about once a week) but true mileage is unknown.
The previous owner also relocated the license plate to the rear bumper. The rear bumper features a small hitch bar hidden within the bumper blade. The car is wired with trailer lights. The previous owner used to pull a small, motorcycle trailer to car shows with it.
Car is sold AS IS. Please ask any questions BEFORE placing your bid. Buyer is responsible to arrange for shipping. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auction end. Payment in the form of cash or cashier’s check.
