1989 Volkswagen Cabriolet Convertible Karmann Wolfsburg Edition
1989 Volkswagen Cabrio Wolfsburg Edition Description
I bought this car as a project. I'm to the point in my life considering my age and health issues I realize I'll never do anything with it. The person I bought the car off of told me it was a daily driver until they pulled into their garage and quit driving it in 2013. They said the mileage of 127,849 is actual mileage. They said one of the reasons they parked the car is they were having issues with the car reving high and not wanting to idol down. Sounds like some type of sensor gone bad. This car will start and run, but as seen in the very last picture it has a dry rotted fuel line, and as it's running gas is squirting out of the dry rotted fuel line. The gas doesn't smell good either. I'd recommend pulling the gas tank to get rid of the old gas, blow out fuel line, and replace fuel filter. As seen in picture #5 the car has been rear ended and has some minor damage. Nothing that would keep you from driving the car. The little hatch still opens and locks securely in place. It does have a cracked windshield. Nothing that would keep you from driving the car. The body is solid. The floor pans are solid. The dash board and dash pad are in nice condition. Considering how old the car is I'd say the interior's in good shape. Needs a good cleaning. The car has been stored in garage since 2013 and is still being stored in a garage. The convertible top is in bad shape with several holes. Considering the car has been parked since 2013 I'm sure it may need a good tune up, spark plugs, wires, air filter, etc. The car has factory air conditioning but I have no idea if it works? As seen in pictures the car has the factory Volkswagen tear drop wheels. As seen in picture #3 it has two emblems on both fenders. One is the Wolfsburg Edition emblem, and the other one is the Karmann emblem. The paint is in good condition with the exception of the front bumper where the paint is flaking off and the hood. The car is being sold as a project car. The car is being sold "AS IS" with no returns or refunds. Please ask all the questions and request all the pictures you feel you need before buying. If you buy this car I need full payment with 3 days, and the car needs to be picked up within 7 days.
