1965 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible - Very Original Barn Find
1965 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description
You are bidding on a 1965 VW Beetle Convertible that has been in storage for at least 20 years in a warehouse. As you can see in the pictures, it is a very complete, original car that has never undergone any kind of restoration work. The only thing I couldn't find for the car was the rear seat. The rear backrest is present, however.
The bent top bow on the right side is from a piece of wood falling on the car several years ago. The top bow can be straightened fairly easily.
I have not tried to turn the engine over, although it looks like it would, as it's not crusty-looking. Regardless, I assume that whoever buys it will probably want to do a complete engine overhaul anyway.
Although there is some surface rust here and there on the car, rust is not much of an issue. As you can see in the pictures, the original floors are still in very good condition. I did find a rusted-through area next to the outer runner on the driver's seat that is about 1 inch by 6 inches long.
The car rolls easily and shifts in and out of all gear easily.
Buyer will be given a Bill of Sale and the open NJ Title I received when I bought the car.
