You are bidding on a 1963 Volkswagen Beetle. This car underwent a show quality professional restoration in 2009. The car comes out of Florida. No expense was spared on the restoration and everything on the car is new. Since restoration it has been driven around 7100 miles over the past 10 years. It is a high quality driver car!
In 2009 this car was taken completely down. All new pans and suspension. As you can see from undercarriage pictures this car looks just as good underneath as it does up top. All new wiring harness. Rebuilt 1600cc single port and 4 speed transmission. All new interior with sound barrier. The interior is near flawless and looks showroom new. The paint job on this car is about as slick as I've seen. Shows some age in a few spots with normal rock chips and a couple small bubbles but nothing out of the norm for a 10 year old paint job. Custom CD player glove box mount with a really cool speaker setup behind rear seats in a vintage suitcase.
This car is extremely mechanically sound. I purchased it and immediately drove it home nearly 400 miles. I have put over 1100 miles on it in the past 90 days. I drove it home over 200 miles when I purchased it with zero issues. I wouldn't be afraid to drive this car anywhere. The steering is tight, the gears shift through flawlessly and the engine purrs. This would make someone a great weekend car you could drive to all your local shows and cruise-ins. It gets a ton of attention and thumbs up all while cruising down the highway smoothly at 70mph.
I am not Volkswagen expert so I may not be able to answer specific questions. A few things I do know from the previous owner is the taillights come off a late 50's beetle. They are called snowflake taillights. I have also been told the door handles are that from a late 50's model as well. I am also going to assume this is not the original matching numbers powertrain or possibly even the pan. All that didn't matter to me as I just loved the way the car looks and drives. It's so much fun to get this car out on the Kentucky backroads. Someone is going to get a sweet cruiser here and make a ton of memories!
