1974 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Sun Bug Description

Very rare 1974 Super Beetle Sun Bug with sunroof and factory air conditioning. It starts, runs, drives very well. Original 1600 dual port engine doesn't smoke or leak (much)The engine has not been hot-rodded and is very stock near as I can tell. I don't know for sure, but I think the engine had to have been rebuilt at some point because it is so tight for it's mileage. There is No end play at the pulley. It does not burn any measurable oil. I have not done a compression test, but it is very tight and has nice power. I have had a few other bugs and dune buggies in my day and this is the tightest one I have had without having to rebuild it myself. It's amazing! The transmission and clutch work fine as well. Rides nice and smooth in streets or the highway.
Has new battery, alternator, carburetor, spark plugs and wires, electronic distributor, muffler and flared tail pipes. Starts cold but warms up smooth very fast. Still has all original equipment for heater.Has new front end ball joints and bushings with fresh alignment.Riviera Porsche wheels and almost new tires.Original am/fm radio works, lights work, horn works, wipers work everything works except the air conditioning. Everything is there and intact for the air conditioning but the hoses are cut in the engine compartment and need repair. The compressor seems to be fine, blowers function, the vents are in-dash. This is obviously a very rare option for a beetle- this is the first one I have personally seen. The only rust besides some surface bubbling or where paint peeling is the battery tray where there is a hole and needs patched. Floor boards solid.Northern CA car all of it's life. Was stored in a barn since the 80s.Has brand new carpeting and seats custom reupholstered with velour inserts and all new padding- very expensive, not cheap! to match original Sun Bug as close as possible.Still has the special Sun Bug paint color tag to prove it's a real Sun Bug.Has a cracked windshield but doesn't impair vision. Has one 4 inch rip in headliner. Needs window rubber replaced- have the kit. But needs paint, has had a couple of cheap paint jobs, peeling off and faded but presentable. The car is very straight and needs practically no body work. It has a couple of cracks in the dash but not too bad.It has the rear defroster window. The sun roof opens and closes, doors open and close nice, very solid car.Locks all work including glove compartment lock, two sets of keys included.Does not have a spare but does have original jack.It has original blue and yellow CA plates front and back.I am the second registered owner and the clean title is in my name on non-op. No back fees. Pretty straight forward. This is a great opportunity for a VW Beetle lover to get a nice collectible model. Fun to drive and show off the way it is or ready for a new paint job. Very clean inside.Remember, it's a 45 year old car so it's not perfect but very nice for it's age in my opinion and I have been collecting and working on classic cars for 40 years.I was going to keep it so I was restoring it for myself but priorities have changed. You won't be disappointed in this bug! Must see in person to appreciate. I have sold a few cars on Ebay with no problems. I am an old Ebayer and have 100% positive feedback. I can help if wanting to transport (Transportation costs and arrangements are soley on the buyer) but transaction must be complete and monies in my account before leaving my property. Local pick up is free and encouraged. You can drive it away, but registration it is on a non-op status. Please ask questions and express concerns before you bid.
