1985 Vanagon Westfalia Camper |
I truly hate to sell this car, wife says must go =) 1985 Westfalia full camper w/ sink, stove, fridge. The interior of this car is immaculate, original, and in great shape. I think this car is a really good candidate for a full restoration. Fix the bodywork, replace canvas and seals and I think you've got a great bus here. Sadly, previous owner's son crashed it, passenger side front is pretty munched. Passenger door won't close properly. We have already purchased a front clip to do the bodywork, and it is included in the price. I would recommend shipping both the car and the clip together on a flatbed. The engine is good - however, it currently runs like crap. Tank is quite rusty. I dropped it and tried to clean it but I think it needs replacing. Also, I think the fuel pump needs replacing. I believe fuel delivery will solve most of this engine's woes. But, I have driven it fairly recently and I can say the engine itself is good, just tends to "give up" at stop signs sometimes and isn't incredibly drivable in its current state. Like I said, I think this is caused by fuel delivery. I went through the running gear; I put new rotors, calipers, and brand new Hankook tires that now have about 5 miles on them. Car steers & stops fine. Canvas pop top needs to be replaced. Window seals are in meh condition, I would eventually replace them. This is a Texas bus so it is pretty dry, no serious body rust. It does have 'kitchen rot', not terrible but I have not removed any furniture yet to see whats going on. Could probably survive awhile as is, but I would want to address it eventually. There are a couple other minor dents on the car but overall its in pretty nice shape. I have all tabletops, and car has middle seat! |
