1985 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon WESTFALIA Description

1985 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon WESTFALIA Well-Maintained,Full Camper, Low Miles, Clean, BONUS
Hello all and thanks for looking. I hope you find this beautiful 1985 Westfalia worthy of your consideration. Happy Bidding!
This is my third Westy since the 90's. Over those bachelor years, I've toured and camped all over the US to compete in trail races, orienteering events, and enjoy music festivals. There is not a more versatile or economical vehicle out there that can do the job these vans can do. Numerous times, I've slept in cozy comfort during all kinds of weather just steps from the starting line, in a nearby Wal-Mart parking lot, high on a scenic mountain top, or even right on the beach! You can explore all day to your heart's content and bed down right where you are when you're tuckered out for the day.
The last few years, our family has outgrown the space a Westy can provide for camping. Even with the side tent and a canopy, we're cramped. Technically, it's possible to sleep four, but that's too tight for comfort. You're forever moving things and stepping on each other. For two people, this unit is perfectly sized and it's downright luxurious when you add the tent. So, it's time for someone else to take the wheel of this beauty.

And, the Nitty-Gritty:
Please email with any questions. I'm not a Westy expert, just a seasoned owner. To truly enjoy these vans, you have to research and adhere to a preventative maintenance schedule, perform repairs according to established procedures, drive them reasonably, and offer care regularly (almost religiously). I'm happy to share my knowledge with you just as all those have shared with me over the years.
Do not bid unless you have numerous eBay transactions and a stellar record.
You may pick up the van in person for free. I cannot pay to ship the van to you, but if you go that route, I will help to coordinate the process with your shipper. Should you decide to fly in or arrive here by rail,I can pick you up at the airport (HIA) or train station (Harrisburg or Lancaster).
All costs associated with the transfer of title, any sales taxes, document preparation, notary fees, etc. are the sole responsibility of the winning bidder.

To promote a genuine auction, the deposit amount is equal to the opening bid cost. The reserve price is set low for a 1985 in this condition. BONUS: If the winning bid is $2000 or more than the reserve price, and upon a legal change of ownership, the winning bidder will receive an email from me containing $500 worth of GoWesty GoBucks!! I figure this will help offset travel/shipping costs or just let you buy great stuff for your new camper van. In either case, I'm hoping it helps encourage a fun, fair, and friendly, auction for all serious bidders.
If you're an earnest potential-buyer, you may send a short note to assure me of your ability to pay and your intention to complete the purchase upon winning the auction. (Sorry--I've been burned.) Following that, I will email you a narrated walk-around video of the bus, any additional pictures you want, and we can chat further by phone.
This beautiful 1985 stock VW Westfalia is also advertised locally, so I reserve the right to cancel the eBay auction at any time. Please write me if you would like to arrange a pre-inspection of the bus in York, PA before bidding.
Thanks for looking!
