1991 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Description

1991 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon.
A great candidate for a Resto. It is all there...or do the minimum and just get her on the road.174,500 on the clock, but we believe the engine has been rebuilt, and not sure of when. There are numerous extra's/spare parts.Full tune up kit/Filters etc. etc. A few hundred bucks worth of stuff. The Carat runs and drives and stops.
1. However there is an issuewith the cooling system. We have been starting her up and rolling around the block, but she is not cooling herself properly. So we shut shut her offwhen thegauge reaches halfway with the light blinking. She has NOT overheated.2. The throttle cable has been sheared off at the pivot plate where the mechanical linkage meets the cable. Needs a weld repair or a new pivot plate which is about $65 if you canfind one.3. On many automatics, the trans. cooler bypass has been done. Read about it. Or convert it back. Still havethe part.4. You will need to flat bed her out if you buy her. Remember, you cannot tow Automatics with rear wheelson the ground.5. The rear hatch/engine bay sometimes responds to the electric unlock, it would need to be accessed and lubed.

We had aspirations of getting her going, but we bought a GTI instead. The interior is very good as you can see, there are some extra headrests. Layed a groovy carpet down which could stay or pull up!*Rear mattress/pad is there.*Custom snake skin door panelsand interior trim (very cool)* CD player/speakers are not hooked up.*Some minor rust issues and paint defects, but nothing structural. She definitely has some mojo scratches and dents here and there...Underneath, it is evident she is a East coaster (not a barrier island vehicle), but nothing terribly disappointing or compromising. There is an entire side panel that needs remounting, we have the fasteners.*She was repainted with a blue metal flake at some point...and still looks pretty good!
