1972 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description
Green 72 Super Beetle daily driver with a air cooled 1600 CC engine. I bought this Bug around 4 months ago as a hobby project car. It reminds me of my first car in High School. There are some good and bad points to this car, so I will try to give you an accurate idea of its history and condition.
The previous owner was driving this car to work everyday until August of last year. At that time he had a wiring problem that caused him to park it. I was unable to start it at first and ran a new wire to the starter. I can start the car and run the engine and drive it.around town.
The steering, brakes, and transmission all seem to be functioning OK at this time. I replaced the coil, plugs, and spark plug wires and added a electronic ignition kit from JBugs. This appears to be an older restoration that needs some work. The floor-pan looks great, the fenders are pretty good too. The tires are very good.
The drivers side door pillar needs some work. I wire brushed and sanded down most of the minor surface rust I found on the body. I used black rustoleum to touch up the repairs to the body. Most of the green paint is still there, but it can use a paint job and new bumpers.
It also needs work on the interior especially the head liner, and its missing the door panels. The seats and carpeting are still pretty good though.
The headlights and taillights seem to be OK. I couldn't get the wipers to to turn on.
The car is currently registered and insured. The CA Title is current.
The reason I am selling the car is we are moving out of town soon, and my wife doesn't want me taking it to the new house. This car just needs a little more work to be a nice daily runner. I just drive to the store once a week these days.
