1989 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon GL Description

63K miles ORIGINAL FACTORY PAINT,all glass including windshield is German original.2.1 water cooled Digifant injected engine, 4 speed transmission/ drive train original unmolested. Factory R12 A/C system converted to R134 with new SD709compressor and receiver dryer and correct green o-rings.Evaporator removed from housing, cleaned and new filter media installed. Blows COLD air!

Entire fuel injection system hoses and gas tank vent grommets replaced with alcohol resistant lines. The plasticengine bulkhead fitting that causes Vanagons to catch fire replaced with stainless steel fitting from Van Café.

NO coolant leaks! Factory VW Phosphate free coolant used during recommended flush intervals. New belts (3), Battery 2 years old.

Chassis mounted propane tank replaced with currently approved 3.3 gallon OPD style tank, 1"-20 extend-a -stay fitting added for camp stove or fire pit use.

I have owned SIX Westfalia campers over the years, but this has been my baby for 25 years. (I purchased with 28k miles) NEVER driven in winter snow road salt, always stored in climate controlled building. ABSOLUTLY NO RUST/ROT! Factory German wax undercoating still coats most of the chassis. No rust in foot wells or rockerpanel pinch weld.

What I have done to enhance:

Removed oxidation from fiberglass pop top, resealed Gelcoat, added screens in drain holes in luggage rack. Replaced rubber top seal, fitted sun shade to skylight.

Installed 10FT Fiamma manual crank awning on RH side, 3FT auto retract awning over galley window.

Installed German 40 liter auxiliary watertank for propane heated shower ( included with other camping gear using buy it now option).

Replaced incandescent bulbs with LED, added sleeping area reading lamps, USB outlet in dash.

Replaced 14" steel wheels with correct load rated Michelin Hydro Edge 205/65/15 tires on GW alloy wheels. 5k mile wear. Brake pads/ shoes replaced. Shocks (4) replaced with KYB units,TERRA WAGON wheel well flares added

Fabricated custom frame mounted 2" rear receiver hitch with 7 way light socket, Fabricated front Bull Bar and custom Blue Ox style removable tab tow bar mount with correct tow light diodes.

Exhaust header pipes replaced with high flow stainless steel, muffler galvanized.

Installed custom Honda center console/ beverage traybetween driver and passenger seat,folds for aisle passage.

EVERTHING WORKS! NO rips, stains on upholstery orcanvas top, original curtains removed and washed, never smoked in. Refrigerator works on propane,12 volt, and 110volt .Additional folding pleatedsunshield added to windshield / dash guard.

All factory owner manuals, original sales brochur, plus the "Green Book" of Vanagons. OEM jack /tools, shore power cord/ 2 sets of original keys, ignition & gas cap/glove box, even the plastic key for the water tank fill.Sliding door screen, rear hatch screen and lock extension bar included.

Camping gear included with "buy it now" Includes Coleman propane hot water heater shower set, nesting set of stainless non stickcookware, stainless propane stove, Coleman rechargeable camp lantern, Lifetime table, Jam-it tables, Velemen 12v solar charger, Yeti 45Q cooler.

Flagstaff is the closest regional 45 mi. Sedona is closest private 20 mi. Phoenix is closest International 100 mi.

I will pick you up from the two closest, or any of the nearby shuttle stops from Phoenix.

The 40L auxiliary water tank is in addition to the factory 11 gallon tank. It is made for European Westfalia"s to contain grey water from sink, and is mounted under chassis on RH side opposite of how it would be on a RH drive Vanagon.

I am also including magnetic window screens for driver and passenger doors.
