1975 Volkswagen Other Description

This is an original numbers matching 1975 VW Safari Campermobile, discovered in the desert of Nevada and brought to California where it received a full restoration: Paint, all window rubbers, complete engine rebuild, interior panels, everything. The van was 100% rust free when discovered. There was minimal bodywork required and the paint job was definitely the first repaint. The 1700cc engine was bumped up to 2.0L using cheater sleeves and pistons that allow for the original 1700cc sleeves and pistons to be reinstalled if desired. The engine is topped with a new pair of Webber dual 40s. The interior has been restored to its original set up although some items have been left unfinished as we feel those choices should be made by the new owner, things like front seats, (we recommend OEM, but the van has newer Subaru seats), also the veneer for the cabinets, sound system, and couple of other small things. The van is titled in my name, registered, insured, and driven from time to time to help brake in the engine. We think the van to be the finest example of an original Safari Camper mobile that exists anywhere. Serious buyers ONLY! A collector that knows what he or she is looking at is our preferred buyer.
