1990 Corrado G60 Completely Stock 87k Miles
1990 Volkswagen Corrado Description
I am putting my 1990 Corrado G60 for sale due to the fact that I can no longer put the time and effort into fixing her up that she needs due to health concerns. I purchased the car in August 2015 shortly after being diagnosed with cancer in hopes that I would be getting a clean bill of health a few months later. Unfortunately, that did not happen for me and the car has just been sitting and I cant stand to see it sit that way so I have to let it go. My health is my number one priority right now so this will have to be somebody else's project to finish. I purchased the car from a guy who wanted to swap the powertrain to an R32 but he never really got it off the ground, so after my diagnosis I jumped at the chance to own another Corrado. It was not running when I bought it, but I discovered that was an easy fix in that the fuel pump was shot and the fuel pressure regulator was leaking, so I had it running in no time. The car definitely needs some work to get it back to the showroom shape she deserves but it is a great starting point for anyone willing to put in the time. I know I could part it out and make twice what I may get, but I do not have the time or abiltity to do so right now, and I couldn't stand to part out a clean accient free Corrado anyhow, so I am selling as is intact to the highest bidder.
The car is completely stock and original, original Sebring wheels, original paint so no layers upon layers of resprays to deal with. The title is a clean and clear Florida title, the body is in great shape with the usual scratches and scrapes you could expect from a 26 year old car. I will document just about every defect I can with photos as well as my description here. There are no major dents or body damage to speak of, there are plenty of scratches and scrapes, some decent size like on the front and rear bumpers. The other common complaint with Corrado's would be rust issues. I have not had the car up on jack stands but was under it to do the fuel filter and could not see any frame rust or body rust underneath to speak of. The only rust I encountered was surface rust from paint scratches down to the metal..One by the winshield trim, one in the drivers door jam, one on the hood and one on the driver side rear fender. I will have photos of these spots. The other to places are the battery tray from a previous leaking battery, and the bottom part of the lower radiator support rusted through where it clips to the front bumper, which is why theres a zip tie in the photos of the bumper, I put it there to add support while I drive it around my neighborhood. All these spots are easily remedied, a new lower rad support and some sanding for the surface rust is all it needs.
The interior is in excellent shape, the only major defect being the seam of the rear seatcoming undone fromsun damage and that's really all there is to speak of. There is a small coolant leak at the flange with the two coolant sensors, I have a new flange, seals, both sensors all ready to be installed brand new included with sale. There is no radio, and there will be no battery sold with the car. Most of the work that needs to be done to this car is under the hood. As I mentioned, the previous owner had started pulling parts out of the engine compartment but did not get too far. The supercharger has been removed alongwith the piping to and from the intercooler to the throttle body, as well as the air box. All of these parts will be included with the car they are just not currently installed. I will also be including all of the new parts I already bought to replace, and any other Corrado parts I have laying in my garage. If you search youtube for 1990 Corrado G60 walk around, there is a 51 second video I posted of the car running and a walk around. I was unable to post alink to the video in my description.
