A Minnesota car since its arrival from Germany, it drives just as a vintage Bug should--that is to say, with more of a growl than a purr. The body is in good-to-great shape, a few dings here and there. It's been professionally repainted since I've owned it, the tires are less than 5 years old, and I've had my VW mechanic work on any trouble I've encountered: nothing unexpected, just periodic maintenance and replacements. If you're handy, you can do fix things yourself. I'm not, so I have a local expert to keep it shipshape.
Be advised: this car is 43 years old. It thrives on trips around the lakes, cruising to DQ or Izzy's, and stints in parades and at vintage VW rallies. Yes, it does make it to 50 mph. And, yes, there are quirks: for instance, I have no idea about its actual mileage because the odometer has never worked, and I've never cared. I've driven it no more than 300 miles each summer, so I've put on less than 5,000 miles total. I'm happy to disclose other "issues"; my price has been calibrated accordingly.
Serious offers, please: I'm happy to show it only if you're truly interested in buying, not browsing. This is my baby, and it's hard to let it go. But I'm hoping someone--like you--will love it as much as I have.
