1974 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description

**I AM LISTING THIS FOR A FRIEND. I HAVE SEEN THIS CAR IN PERSON AND IT IS VERY NICE. I HAVE NEVER SEENONE BEFORE**

1974 VOLKSWAGEN SUNBUG LIMITED EDITION SUPER BEETLE - Scarce and Rare & DOCUMENTED!.

Sun bug produced only one year. This is the Sun Roof edition.
This model came with its own special contoured two tone bucket seat interior with matching door panels, special sports wheel, wood finish dash panels, sun roof, Sun Bug striping, Sun Bug Id on the engine li, special gold metallic paint and bright sport steel wheels.
The engine lid Sun Bug and striping were put on at the dealership when these were purchased. This also has the chrome window vent shades also put on by the dealership and it is marked as a N/C option on the dealer paperwork.
The interior has tu-tone brown upholstery and the original Kamei Tunnel console. The shift knob is missing the gold VW center medallion insert. The original stamped Volkswagen radio works well. It also has the original day/night mirror. The front seats have minor issues- a tear in the lower leather of the drivers seat,,, a small split in the passenger seat where the upholstery and leather meet- otherwise very nice. The dash has a small crack. The sports steering wheel is a special feature to the sun bug. Glass is all good. The back rear glass has the defroster in it.
The trunk has the original equipment jack, spare tire and tire inflator with the German decals. Trunk is very nice. This is the original 4 cylinder engine which runs very well. Headers are the only non original part but it sounds really throaty.
This is a 4 speed manual gearbox.
Many new parts --Brakes, master cylinder, all new gas lines, rotor, in line fuel filter, points, plugs, wires, coil, 2 wheel cylinders and a new battery. Car runs excellent.
Have the original owners manual with protect-o-plate type card inside with vehicle ID - color-chassis number, and VIN dated 7/74.The owners manual shows delivery inspection and oil changes stamped by the dealershipAlso have original dealer sales sheet purchase order.
Always a Pennsylvania car and present owner is believed to be 3rd owner. The odometer reads 30,200 miles and is believed to be correct. PA titlesays mileage exempt (due to age of vehicle).
The vin decal sticker is in the door jamb- some enthusiasts believe only the Sun Bug came with the blacksticker- this decal is black. Not sure if this is fact.Special Sun Bug Paint is gold metallic. Paint has some imperfections but it is still bright and looks nice. Body has had 1 repaint with correct color. Nice original chrome on car.
Chassis looks clean with nothing worse than some surface rust which is normal. Passenger sill plate has small area of rust at lower door opening area. Some paint bubbling on driver side quarter area near window line (see pics).
You will be hard pressed to find a nicer, more original Sunbug if you WANT a Sunbug! I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. This car is unique and when driven to car shows will turn heads and place in a category.
