Up for sale is a 1982 Volkswagen Westfalia Vanagon. We have acquired another one and there is, unfortunately, not enough room for two of these, so this one must go. It is all original and in remarkable shape for its age. It has newer tires and a new starter and battery. The engine is running strong (as strong as the little 1.6l diesel engine can). And to that, if you're not familiar with what that means, go do your research. This is not the bus you buy for the all American road trip, unless that road trip can go 50 miles per hour (but not uphill). The usual body rust has occurred, much of which has been attended to (currently in primer). Except for these areas, it has original paint that looks good. The interior is original and complete, but has accrued the natural wear and tear. There are some areas on the cabinetry that have started peeling the vinyl covering. If you love restoration projects, this one won't need much to come back to its original glory. If you want to do the speed limit, don't buy this unless you want to do the engine/trans swaps or upgrades that are available. Again, DO NOT buy this without fully understanding what the '82 diesel Vanagon was. This vehicle originally had48 horsepower (and still does). However, for you purists out there, this is your opportunity to get a complete, rare, and surviving Westie diesel.
If you have any questions or wish to see more photos or videos, please contact me. This is being sold as is with no returns. A $500 deposit will be required within 24 hours after the close of the auction. Buyer is responsible for transport. Thank you for looking and happy bidding.
*Update*
When originally posted this listing, I stated that these had 67 horsepower. I've since been corrected. These actually had 48 horsepower. Sorry for the confusion. I don't want to make a false claimas towhat this vehicle is capable of.
