1968 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description

This is not a roadster. It has a folding convertible top frame that needs vinyl or canvas.
You are looking at a heavily modified 1968 VW Beetle Convertible from California. This thing is California style all the way! The body, whose donor car was a 1965 convertible has been widened, molded, and stretched. Pans restored and body seal replaced. All side glass and door hardware included. Front window is plexiglass but comes with a flat glass that needs a slight curve. It sits on a custom air bag suspension with onboard air tank, compressor, and new 20" wheels and tires. The front beam is narrowed 2" with new tie rods and steering arm. A lot of work has already been completed but the Bug still needs to be finished. It will need the interior refinished, convertible top installed, suspension tuned. It has a running 1641 motor with dual Weber carbs. (It runs and drives but may need to be tuned up from sitting a few years) Most of the parts to complete this project are included with the car. Alot more money than the asking price has already been spent on this car.
FlawsIn an attempt to make a fiberglass hardtop I purchased resin from a local store. As it turned out, the resin was on the shelf for years yet sold anyway. After putting on the layers of Fiberglass, I let it sit to cure. After a few days it was still wet and tacky even after being properly mixed with MEKP. I sat it outside hoping the sun would help cure it. It didn't. It only made it drip and run down onto the paint job and hardening. The paint is ruined. Thus leading me to be bummed out and abandoning this car for almost a year. There are a few cracks where the fender meets the body. See the pictures.
