1970 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible
1970 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description
Up for auction is a very nice 1970 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible in yellow! We recently took this car in from its proud owner last week. Needless to say, she was very sad to let her summer toy go! The car is a wonderful little summerdriver that looks very nice with itsblack top and newer vinyl interior. The car was traded into our facility with afresh Pennsylvania Inspection as well!
The Beetle has an older yellow paint job that is starting to show its age in places. There is minor superficial bubbling in the paint along some of the edges and also some areas where the paint is beginning to peel. These are minor issues and the actual structure of the car seems very nice. One could choose to touch up these spots or leave it the way it is for a nice "driver" quality finish. The interior appears to be very nice with what looks like newer black vinyl upholstery, and the car has its original gauges and shift lever. As a bonus, the previous owner installed a more modern sound system including new speakers and a cd player. She also had a new generator installed and new front tires. Perhaps the nicest thing about the bug is that the convertible top is a brand new replacement which will save the next owner from having to replace this component. The previous owner stated that she spent a lot of money on the top and it looks beautiful!
The flat four cylinder fires up smoothly with no smoke or hesitation. The previous owner stated she drove the car all summer long and it performs very nicely. The clutch is tight and the shifting mechanism seems tighter than most vintage Volkswagen Beetles. The chrome dual exhaust sounds nice and looks good too!
If you are looking for a nice little classic Volkswagen Beetle to enjoy in the summer time with the top down and the wind in your hair this one might be for you for a fraction of the price a new convertible would cost! This vehicle is going up for auction for three days with no reserve! The car is sold AS-IS WHERE IS and there is absolutely no warranty on a car of this vintage. While we take every measure to accurately describe our cars online, we encourage any bidders to inspect the vehicle before bidding. As with all of our auctions, this car is for sale on our pre-owned lot and can be sold at any time. Please contact Bill Cross, our Internet Auction Manager at814-331-8726with any and all questions.
