1990 Volkswagen Corrado Description

Car runs and drives but needs a little work, 140k miles. This car was purchased several months ago as a restoration project but I also have a VR6 Ive decided to focus on. The car has been driven locally with no problems so I dont see any issues with driving the car away.
The good:
Black leather interior in good condition
Rear brakes completely rebuilt (new calipers, hoses, parking brake cables)
New fuel pump
New Fuel Filter
New StarterNew Battery
The bad:
Small exhaust leak near manifold (needs gasket)
Automatic seatbelts don't work
Sunroof doesnt work
A/C needs charging
Power windows stopped working last week ( I will check the fuse circuit )
Rear spoiler only operates manually
Coolant reservoir is leaking (Car doesn't overheat)
Please email with any additional questions.

The engine appears to have had head work recently done, solid compression on all cylinders. Supercharger appears to beoriginal, no noises, still giving good boost. This car has solid restoration potential.

When Ioriginally acquired the car it had an absolutely horrible aftermarket exhaust installed. The was no gasket installed on the downpipe and it leaked terribly. I have since fitted a brand new borla catlaytic converter and sourced out a OEM suitcase intermediate muffler and rear muffler. These cost me alot of money and the new exhaust is in superb condition with no rot or rust whatsoever. Correct gaskets have been fitted from the downpipe back and a new Oxygen sensor fitted. I discovered the other leak after replacing cat back pieces. I'm fairly certain whoever did the head used the old gasket or just simply omitted them as there was no flange gasket fitted. Blue coolant temperature sensor is new as well as a brand new continental 1-meter vacuum hose to the ECU that is the correct I.D. The car runs great now, I just don;t have anymore time to work on it and my wife wants it gone!

The clutch is solid, no slipping, solid engine braking on downshifts. I did a partial bleed of the hydraulic system after replacing all the rear brake compenents, the system should probably be thoroughly bled out all around though. Braking is good and the clutch pedal is a little soft still drives just fine.

I will include an extra Bentley manual, new idler pulleys, new throttle cable, sunroof motor, seatbelt relay, and some othermiscellaneous parts I have for the car.

I also have a set of the original sebring wheels (and centercaps but they are in rough shape) for the car that I purchased for $400. If you are looking for a stock restoration, I will sell them with the vehicle for $250.

Oh! The shift mechanism has been completely rebuilt with all new bushings, the car shifts like new. The transmission is excellent, no worn synchros or gears popping.

On Aug-17-16 at 10:52:34 PDT, seller added the following information:

I'vereceived some questions regarding rust. The chassis is pretty rust free, there are a couple spots on the underbody that the undercoating was rubbed off and there's rust perforation but they are small. The suspension components have surface rust from stone chips but there is no perforation and they can be repainted. The only area I can tell that needs attention is some rust under the front radiator support but it is not rotted out. There is none of the common rust under the rear hatch area. Also the oil cooler is leaking which is common for this era VW, I have the new flange gasket and the .89 cent o-ring for the cooler. Ive attached new photos.

I am trying to provide as information as I have on this car but please understand I have 4 cars including my 2 Corrado's. I've driven this car maybe 20-30 miles since Ive owned it. I bought this car as arestorationvehicle as it is quickly becoming a rare classic. If you are looking for a cheap cool car to commute home 1000k miles to see your parents from college, this is not the car for you. Get a Honda Accord, thanks!
