1991 Volvo 240 Sedan - 250K miles - sun roof - runs great
1991 Volvo 240 Description
This is a well-loved Volvo 240 with automatic transmission, central door locking, electric windows, and a hand-cranked sun roof. It runs smoothly with that Volvo growl in the engine, and has proved good over the long distance. It's not excessively rusty anywhere, starts every time.
I bought this car three years ago from a man who loved it, gave it a name, and presented me with a full service history that I may have lost in a box during a recent house move. I've taken it in for regular services and in addition to the usual brake and oil and tire servicing, have replaced the alternator and battery, and have had no trouble with it at all. If my daughter weren't finishing off college this year, I'd hold onto it, but I need to save on the insurance, associated state fees, and get a few bucks for the car.
The magnetic poetry on the hood in the pictures is removable and will be gone when you're ready to drive it off.
In the interests of disclosure: It needs painting because of peeling clear-coat. It needs the rear trunk trim to be glued on. The exhaust system appears to be held up in places with wire. The fan for the heating/AC can be a little noisy at full blowing speed. The odometer just stopped advancing when I zeroed out the mileage counter. The plastic of the dash has some slight cracking from sun damage.
Here is a Meineke report made by the mechanics who have serviced this car for the past three years:
It is PA state inspected through the end of the month, and as a PA classic car, doesn't need emissions tests.
If you're within a hundred miles or so of Philly, we can arrange for it to be delivered for an extra cost.
