I am offering my unrestored but repainted original 1966 Volvo P-1800S VIN 16713 for sale . I purchased it from the second owner that had bought the car in 1968. It is a restorable car that is in good running condition. It is reliable and I drive the car regularly. It can be driven and enjoyed currently. I have other interests and I’m reluctantly selling it. I believe the mileage to be correct at 111,891.
Body
I am not an expert so I have posted over 140 photos on Photo Bucket. There has been no crash damage but there is significant rust as seen in the photos. The rear lower portion of each front fender has significant bondo. There are rust bubbles under the left turn signal. The trunk has no crash damage but there is a rust hole/seam on top of the left rear fender well. It was repainted the original color and the rust was poorly repaired in the 1980’s. The paint is poor with numerous scratches and touch ups. The main longitudinal rails are solid but the out riggers are rusty. The tires have good tread .
Drivetrain
The engine is original and runs well. It does not smoke and holds good oil pressure. When driving it registers 45-50#. The transmission shifts smoothly. The overdrive works fine. Occasionally when shifting to reverse there is a grind. Typically this happens when my foot is not totally on the pedal and the clutch does not fully disengage. The design of the foot rest creates this problem for those with fat feet. I think that is also related to the clutch adjustment. Eventually it will need a clutch and slave cylinder. The rear end is quiet.
Interior
The interior is original with tears and sagging panels. Carpets are sun faded. the dash is severely cracked. There is a hole in the driver floor front left side. It still has the original leather straps. The fuel gauge sticks but after driving a bit it will work properly. I think the tach reads fast by a 1000 RPM’s. The aftermarket radio works. The AC is there but does not work. The dash light switch is unpredictable. Typically it works fine when the car is warmed up. The clock does not work.
General
This is an a very restorable example of an original P1800S. It is reliable and drives nicely. For a 50 year old unrestored car, t is in reasonable condition. I am not an expert so ask questions. I have taken over 140 photos that can be seen on Photo Bucket. I will try to add the link but if I can’, ontact me for the link.

I forgot to mentionthatthere is a bullseye chip that is about 1 " in diameter in the front windshield on the upperright hand corner out of the field of vision. There is no linear crack. The previous owner told me it happened 25+ years ago so it has been stable.
