1962 VOLVO 544 With a B20 Engine
Up for sale is my 1962 VOLVO 544 - With a B20 Engine.
I bought this car in Arkansas from the gentleman who had it restored a few years ago.
As you can see from the photos, it is a great looking Volvo. The body and frame are rust free. The paint is 9 out of 10, and really shines. The chrome is excellent.
For me, the highlight of this car is the interior. From the custom dash with all working gauges, speedo, and tach, to the custom leather power seats. And beautiful fitted rugs. It also has power windows. AM/FM radio with CD player. All lights and electricals work fine. In the engine dept. you can see the updated fuse terminal, plus the custom stainless steel radiator cowl and battery cover. There is also a custom made hood latch that keeps the hood locked when open. The custom chrome wheels have nearly new tires on them. As you can see in the finished trunk, there is a brand new spare.
Underneath I did some front end work with new bushings, and the under carriage is overly undercoated. Suspension is tight, and it handles very well.
The B20 engine was rebuilt by the previous owner, who tells me it was slightly modified with an updated cam. So it is quite peppy. It has been updated with an alternator. The clutch took me some getting used to, as it has very little resistance. It was set up like that. The transmission shifts easily and smoothly. It has an electric fuel pump.
It has been garage kept by me and the previous owner.
It’s time to part ways with one of my 6 Volvos. Yes, I am a Volvo enthusiast. I’m 73 and spending way too much time keeping my collection in top condition.
I welcome an inspection and test drive. Happy to answer all questions from serious buyers.
It is advertised locally, so I reserve the right to end this auction if need be
