VOLVO 1967 AMAZON P130 in very nice original condition. 61,693 original miles.
1967 Volvo P130 Description
Offered for sale is a VOLVO 1967 P130 sedan with only 61,693 original miles. Color is dark blue with a burgundy interior. The transmission is an automatic BW35. The same transmission used up to 1976 in all VOLVO 4 cylinder cars. The 1967 sedans shared the best rear brakes and the best rear suspension design of all the VOLVO AMAZON P120 and P130 sedans. This is mostly an original car that is in very nice original condition except for a few things. The car was painted(original color) about 35 years ago. The upper section of the rear seat was restored using an original VOLVO cover. The inside components of the seat are in perfect condition. I replaced the power boost about 10 years ago with the proper updated system. Otherwise, the car has seen normal servicing over the past 50 years and runs perfectly. There are receipts for everything including the original factory documents and the original invoice. I operate and own Carriage Motors of Wiscasset, Maine and I have serviced this car since it had only 5,900 miles. The car has never seen a winter and is in exceptionally nice original rust free condition. The pictures of the trunk area speak for themselves. If you are familiar with 122 sedans, you know how rare it is to see an original, non restored trunk area in this condition. Indeed exceptional as all of the cardboard pieces and the mat are original and nice. The gas tank and fuel sender are perfect. I have included pictures of the driver's side and passenger's side floor to show the amazing original condition. This is a "turn key" car that can be driven across the country as is. Every mechanical part of this car is in proper condition. There is a lot to mention about this car and it is much more convenient to call and discuss it on the phone. My telephone number is 207-882-5033 daytime M-F. I have worked on and serviced thousands and thousands of 122 AMAZONs and I would place this car in the top 4 of non-restored cars that I have seen. If you live in the New England area I would expect that you would come and inspect and test drive the car before buying it. NOTE-About the pictures...I had someone make a comment that they were concerned about "all of the rust on the floor" in one of the pictures. For those who do not know how a 122 AMAZON is constructed, the brownish material on the floor is a type of "coco matting" that the factory used as a sound deadening material and a "cushioning" material for the rubber matting. To have a car with the original coco matting still in proper condition is rare, rare, rare. Over 50 years most of the cars leaked water which would gather under the original rubber mats, rot the matting and eventually rust out/rot out all of the floors and the inner unitized body. I truly believe that there is not another 122 AMAZON with a better unitized body than this car. It would have to have been in a museum since being almost new.
