1971 Volvo 142E
1971 Volvo Other E Description
Hello,The time has come to part with my 71' 142E.71 was a unique year as it was the only year you could get the highest horsepower and compression stock engine from Volvo, The "E" block. I purchased the car from the original owner. The car has been garage kept since new.It was a daily driver up until I bought it, I work close to home so it usually gets driven for fun more than commuting. The motor was rebuilt several years ago, the engine has plenty of get up and go so I'd assume the compression is still pretty even across the cylinders. It starts, runs and drives very reliably. The injection system works perfectly. It idles fast upon start up and evens out nicely when warm.the car doesn't smoke. The only issue that I'd address is a leaky pan gasket, a cheap and easy fix.
The paint job is not perfect but it still is very presentable.there is some rust poking through near the rear wheel wells, a very common spot on these carsthe rest of the car is totally dry and rust free.
The 142 has Panasport Racing wheels with new Nexen CP672 tires. It has anti Sway barsRecent exhaust, idles nice a quiet with no loose bafflesThe AC will run but doesn't blow very cold, I assume it needs recharged. The heater works great.
The front seats were recovered before I got the car.The passenger seat is like new but the drivers seat shows some wear.rear seats need new covers, available from VP auto parts.front door panels are in great original condition.rear panels are showing some wear but are intact and usable. All of the glass is in great condition.
I also have some rare parts to go with the car.140 Rally instrument cluster."Volvo" rear window Louvers.brand new horn pad for the stock steering wheel.Momo Cavalino 2 italian steering wheel with a 140 hub and R Sport horn button.I also have a set of 140 lowering coil springs if you'd like to lower the car. Please contact me with any questions, its a great car and it needs a new caring home.thanks ! .
