a true survivor, 1991 Volvo 244/240 sedan
1991 Volvo 240 Description
What’s up guys and girls, so, if you are taking the time to read this then you are a Volvo person, and just seeing a 240 available that runs and drives probably brings a smile to your face….this is a classic vehicle....not Barrett Jackson classic, and it is not for everyone, but someone will appreciate it.
So, the basics are:
- 1991 Volvo 240 sedan
- I would guess about 190k miles
- Automatic transmission
At the top of this listing, honestly I do not know how to get someone to buy a vehicle, any vehicle without being able to drive it, experience it, and so on. I will do my level best to describe it and we can go from there.
I have always been a Volvo guy, my first car was a 1964 1800 and the rest is history. I managed Volvo of Savannah service from 2002 to 2014 when I went on my own, and my wife and I opened our own dealership in Savannah. I sell the normal F150's and Camry's but I have an eye for the old and the strange. My hope with this ad is I will be able to reach more people and maybe find that person that appreciates old Swedish Iron.

Onto the car!
This vehicle has been in the same family since new. I got it from my friend, the last owner was his sister. The CarFax picks up in 2003 when they moved to Bluffton, the vehicle was serviced at Hilton Head Volvo regularly.
The CarFax shows no accidents but that is not accurate, a number of years ago the passenger fender was repaired, a little of the bondo has flaked off, as you can see in the picture.
So when I got the 240, it needed some basic maintenance, all of which was done.
- Timing belt was replaced
- Oil change
- New plugs, dist cap, wires, and rotor
- Brakes
- Newer tires were installed
- I installed a newer radio
- Suspension was redone a few years ago
- No oil, coolant, etc etc leaks
- New battery
- Cranks every time
- All lights work
- Temp gauge, fuel gauge, the dash clock work
- The AC does actually work
The odometer and speedometer quit working a few years ago. I tried to get them working by installing a cluster I had from a 240 I parted out a few years ago but no luck, I do not know what the issue is. I did solve the problem, to an extent, by getting a TomTom so you have a speedometer and now you have navigation! I know where I would install the disk that the device adheres to, but I did not stick it on, I will leave that to the new owner.
This is an older, cool, funky car. It is not for everyone, that is for sure, but I am confident someone will appreciate this vehicle.
I thank you for your time.
