1988 Volvo 240 DL (Deluxe) Wagon
Pinnacle of auto longevity. Purchased from original owner and driven primarily to bicycle trail and back home, a 4 mile, hilly round trip. Garaged and seldom driven while under my ownership. It has been a west coast car its entire life. It was purchased new in WA state and has been in Southern California for at least the last 20yrs.
We have (2) drivers for (6) cars and our new home simply does not have the necessary parking.
The Volvo is completely rust and accident free. It is in very good, original condition. Mechanically sound, it leaks nothing and can be daily driven as it sits although it may ride too low for some people. A stock set of springs and original 14” wheels/tires will be included to return the vehicle to stock, attitude/altitude. The car currently rides on trimmed coils and bump-stops paired to kyb and bilstein struts/shocks. It rides surprisingly well given how low it sits.
240 wagons in this condition are difficult to find, specifically an original, west coast and rust free example with a 5spd manual and 3rd row. This example also has factory installed, functional cruise control. The mileage is low for the year.
Thanks to BAT, these cars are gaining value and popularity. Unlike today’s Volvo’s, 240’s were built to last and while few would accuse them of being ‘fast’, at speed (momentum car) and with a manual gearbox they are fun and provide lots of utility with the 3rd row and cargo space.

Lastly
The car passed smog in December 2017. If the buyer is from CA, I will smog prior to pick up. The previous owner had a dog (as evidenced by the pet barrier) so there is some dog hair here and there in the carpet. Overall, a little bit of elbow grease on the interior and exterior would go a long way.
