Volvo P1800E 1970 for sale
For sale is my beautifully restored original 1970 Volvo P1800E
Chassis 30199, Type 184351, Color 42, Upholstery code 327.
4 ½ year full nut & bolt rotisserie restoration recently completed.
Completely rust free. All body rust was cut out and replaced with genuine Volvo replacement panels.
Floors, rockers/sills, and partial frame replacement was also completed.
Every inch of this car was media blasted (crushed glass) to bare metal (including the bottom) and protected with Epoxy primer. This includes inside the inner, middle, and outer rockers/sills - sealed with Epoxy primer before welding together. Factory correct seam lines under the doors, around the front turn signals, and rear end.
Inside the frame was coated with internal frame protector. There should never be any rust issues with this car ever again. Bottom is painted and clear coated.
Every bushing, bearing and gasket on the car was replaced.
All suspension bushings are polyurethane. New ball joints, control arms and shocks.
The car was restored as close to original as possible using many of its original refurbished parts, with the exception of an upgraded front IPD sway bar (I will include the optional rear IPD sway bar which I did not install) and the circa 1960’s analog EFI computer was replaced with a state of the art modern reliable controller - Megasquirt II Stealth sequential system by Stealthems. Stock distributor with electronic internals. All car tuning is done with laptop/tablet via BlueTooth (tablet PC included.)
The new computer and harness pass for completely stock as the computer is housed in the old computer case and the wiring uses stock genuine Volvo boots and connecters.
The car has brand new genuine front and rear wiring harnesses. All the gauges are original and functional. Even the original clock works.
Complete Interior was replaced including carpet, seat webbing, foam, upholstery etc in the stock red (327) and the paint is original color California White (42.) New headliner.
New genuine padded dash covers.
Original ‘clover leaf’ wheels.
New fuel tank, fuel pump, filter, pressure regulator etc. Brand new fuel and brake lines, stainless steel hardware, brand new rotors and brake calipers. All wheel and axle bearings replaced. All differential bearings replaced. All Gear box bearings replaced. Electronic Overdrive is functional. New clutch, throw out bearing, main rear engine seal.
LED dash and cockpit lighting.
Original B20E engine runs good and pulls hard - bored .040 over, completely torn down and cleaned - new pistons, bearings, cam, lifters, timing gears etc. New valves, springs, guides, seals, decked etc. No leaks anywhere. New water pump, radiator, starter, alternator, voltage regulator, coil, etc. New heater core and heater control valve. All hoses and clamps are new.
Full stainless steel exhaust system. The list goes on.
The car runs and drives very well. Original odometer reads 10049 - I honestly do not know if it is actually 110049, 210049 etc as it’s only a 5 digit odometer. I bought it at approx 09800 from my friend who bought this in the ‘80s. However, with the extensive work done to this car and engine/drivetrain, you could argue it has 250 miles on it lol. Note - I still occasionally drive this on weekends, so the milage will increase.
All the trim and bright work on the car is original.
New reverse light housing with original glass. New front turn signals, new rear light housings.
Some of trim has minor dents and dings which could use some hammer/dolly work. The bumpers and door handles are original and could use a re-chrome or replacement. Right headlight rim is dull. Rear view mirror shows age but functional.
Clean title in hand.
