Up for auction is my 1987 Volvo 780 Bertone. I've gotten the car as a project many years ago and simply will never get around to it. I am not a Volvo enthusiast, y intentions were to swap a more powerful motor and manual transmission, ut it would be sacrilegious, s I have found this is a rare and sought-after car. My research shows it was one of the first years that were manufactured, nd that there were only around 8000 or 9000 units made.The car has an inspection sticker dating to 2008, o I assume it was parked sometime around then. It came into my possession some time after that. The odometer reads 156022 and the car definitely shows its age. I have a clear title for the car. The clear coat is peeling on most of the exterior panels and there is rust poking through in some spots as shown in pictures. The driver's seat is torn and the interior is pretty dirty.THE CAR DOES NOT RUN. I've gotten it to start by pouring some gas into the intake, ut it didn't run for very long off of it. Therefore, do not know the condition of the drivetrain, nd the car is not driveable. It is a very solid project car for someone who can truly appreciate it, r its an excellent donor vehicle to fix yours, s parts aren't necessarily common. The car is for sale in AS IS condition.The car will need to be picked up (towed) where it is located in Manorville, ew York. I am able to deliver anywhere on Long Island for a fee, r shipping can be arranged by the buyer.
